1) What inspired you to write your novel?
I've always been captivated by the magic in fairy tales, but I've grown to love how they teach us about overcoming challenges.
2) What is your favorite part of your story?
I love to see how characters change over the course of the story and how that change is reflected in their relationships with others.
3) What is one thing you love about the Regency era?
Hands down it is the built-in conflict that a strict social structure naturally brings to stories set in this particular time period.
4) What was your favorite fairy tale as a child and why?
Disney's Sleeping Beauty. I grew up listening to the Read-Along book that came with a vinyl record, for me it was also a sing-along. I loved the musical themes borrowed from Tchaikovsky and of course Aurora's beautiful voice. I also got a thrill from the prince being able to slay the dragon.
5) What is one thing readers can expect from you?
Readers can always expect to find a little humor and a whole lot of heart.
Heloise C. Kensington returned to the beautiful Pacific Northwest after attending university in the desert. It took her more years than she wanted, but she eventually found her prince charming, and they married one sunny summer morning. She is now living her happily-ever-after with her handsome prince and her darling children. In her quiet moments you will find her reading, writing, sewing, or enjoying music. She also loves every chance she gets to explore the stunning beauties of her part of the country—wandering through the woods and strolling down the beaches of her home state.
